Synopsis

“Hannah Can You Hear Me?” is a short, silent, black and white film, inspired by Hannah Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin’s mother.

To the world he was a legend, to her he was the world.

A story about a boy and his mother; Unconditional love through different phases. The mother mental illness the pain. The son moving to an orphanage but believe in his mother and his strength. The treatment of women in the beginning of the 20th century; dismissal abusive and cruel. The asylum and the separation with all the hurdles and finally the compelling reunion, so precious and touching after years. The son becomes the legendary Charlie Chaplin and this movie is dedicated to Hannah Chaplin, his mother, that through perseverance and humility became Chaplin’s inspiration in many of his movie, specially the “Great Dictator”.
